Schrodinger’s Cat and its Use in Quantum Cryptography

Floyd Johnson - 10/4/19

Abstract: Quantum Mechanics is a playground for strange and counterintuitive phenomena. One of the most famous of these phenomena is a thought experiment involving a cat existing in a limbo state proposed by Erwin Schrodinger. In this talk we will discuss a mathematical view of Schrodinger’s Cat and how we can abuse the strange nature of quantum mechanics to create a cryptographic key distribution mechanism which insures message security in the presence of a computationally unbounded adversary.
